Introduction to eBooks & Audiobooks  Audio Books

      Learn to use eBooks & audiobooks from your library on e-readers like the Nook, iPad and on your PC or MAC. This workshop with take you through creating an Adobe ID, installing Adobe Digital Editions, and downloading an e-book and audio book to your e-reader or Windows/MAC computers.

Prerequisite: Basic computer skills, e-mail account and MHLS Library card with valid PIN required. Apple ID required for iPad users.

Introduction to iPad

New to iPad? Come into this workshop and become familiar with your iPad’s  touch screen user interface & functions of various buttons. Also learn how to setup your e-mail for easy access, learn about each installed app/icons and how to find/add additional apps from thousands of apps that have been developed for the iPad. Get answers to your own questions about iPad. We recommend to bring your iPad to this workshop.

Prerequisite: e-mail account and/or Apple ID are required.

iTunes for Beginners

iTunes        Everything you ever wanted to know about using iTunes with your iPhone/iPod/iPad but were afraid to ask! Learn how to create iTunes account and understand the basics of using it for buying,importing and organizing music. Also discover thousands of educational podcasts in your areas of interest. It is recommended that your bring your own iPod/iPhone/iPad, if you have one.

Learn to Edit Your Digital Photos

Learn how to edit your vacation, holiday or everyday pictures from your digital camera. We’ll help you get your pictures from your camera to the computer to do some editing using a photo editing program that you can get for free. We’ll show you how to remove red eye and make adjustments to brightness, contrast and sharpness as needed. Then we’ll help you save your edited photos on a USB/Flash drive (must bring your own drive).  If you don’t have a camera, but would still like to learn, we’ll have some pictures for you to use in class.
